DESIGNER AND ENTREPRENEUR
As with any big city worldwide, our decisions are based on “making a living” and survival. I was raised in a big city in Brazil where our lives’ main focus is to dedicate our time to do, work and make money, and following what I learned to be truth I went on the same journey. During my young adult age, my time was dedicated to working to fund my studies. I got a job in a company that I liked and in which I had a great salary, I was in a relationship with someone I loved and had an abundant social life. I dreamed of getting promoted at the company I was working for, but it wasn’t happening. My mental health started to get compromised. I developed persistent anxiety and depression.
I was a young woman who was completely lost, insecure, and disconnected from herself. A massive sense of confusion flooded my heart while I followed all the steps that I learned to be right. How could I be unhappy? I dreamed to live a meaningful life, having full autonomy, and freedom to do something purposeful. Still, I didn’t know what, where, and how to start.
As my anxiety and depression started to grow tremendous suffering accompanied me. It was almost unbearable to feel so much confusion and sadness. As the suffering and the difficult emotions grew, I decided that I needed to change my life. That was when I started looking for a healing, therapists, and communities where I could find support.
Six years of personal growth traveling around the world, healing, and purpose searching followed. Meditate in monasteries and holy cities, read books, connect with different cultures in Asia, and attend mindfulness meditation training and retreats in the U.S.
My anxiety and depression faded away and I discovered a world full of purpose, meaning, and adventures. I learned mindfulness meditation techniques by focusing, observing, and honoring my thoughts, feelings, emotions, and present moment experiences. As anxiety and depression ceased, I felt empowered to embody my dreams, be who I truly Am, and direct my energy towards the things I want in life.
My mission is to share my own experience by supporting people to live a meaningful life by including meditation and mindfulness as part of their day-to-day life.
